Welcome to 13 Brigade, the West Australian brigade based in the Perth metropolitan area with some parts of the brigade based in country Western Australia. 13 Brigade is an active Army Reserve (Ares) with a history that dates back to the First World War, the "Magnificent 13th" according to historian Charles Bean. As a reserve unit we offer men and women a diverse range of part-time careers, with great tax free benefits plus the opportunity to serve full time for short or longer periods. Members of 13 Brigade assisted with the Victorian Bush Fires emergency and have also served in the Solomon Islands, East Timor, Malaysia, Bougainville, Iraq and Afghanistan. 13 Brigade is commanded by Brigadier Stephen Cain
