13 Brigade is the major Army Reserve presence within Western Australia and it provides many employment opportunities. The following provides you with a basic outline and location of each unit, please click on the units links for more information.
Whether you are near one of our regional depots or located in the Perth metropolitan area 13 Brigade will have great opportunities for you. From Rifleman to Gunner or one of the many support roles you will have a range of choices available to you. 16 Battalion (16 RWAR) is one of two Infantry Battalions within 13 Brigade. 16 RWAR only recruits Rifleme and have depots in Kalgoorlie and Geraldton as well as Joondalup and Karrakatta in Perth.
11/28 Battalion (11/28 RWAR) is the other Infantry Battalion within 13 Brigade. 11/28 RWAR only recruits Riflemen and have depots in Kattaning, Albany and Bunbury as well as Rockingham and Karrakatta in Perth.
13 Combat Services Support Battalion (13 CSSB) support the other Brigade units. Based at Karrakatta in Perth 13 CSSB recruits for many various positions, including Nurses, Dental Technicians, Mechanics, Clerks, Drivers and Medics.
7th Field Battery (7 Fd Bty) is 13 Brigade's artillery unit. It is located both at Rockingham and Karrakatta Perth. 7 Fb Bty recruits gunners.
13 Field Squadron (13 Fd Sqn) are 13 Brigade's engineers. It is also located at Karrakatta. There are several employment opporutinties within the Squadron, these include Field Engineers, Drivers, Storemen and Logistical Staff.
XLH. The 10th Light Horse Cavalry Regiment is located at Karrakatta. It is recruiting Light Cavalry Scouts - this position is open to males only.
109 Sig Sqn is located in Karrakatta. 109 Signals Squadron provides the Brigade with their communications. The main positions available within the Signals Squadron are - Operator Communications, Operator Bearer Systems and Operator Technician. All these positions are open to both males and females.
