Mission
The mission of Unrecovered War Casualties - Army (UWC-A) is to account for Army's unrecovered war dead.

Role
UWC-A's role is to investigate all notifications to Army relating to the discovery of human remains, or evidence of the presence of human remains, believed to be those of Australian soldiers. Where necessary, UWC-A will manage the interment of human remains identified as those of an Australian soldier. When required, UWC-A will investigate other issues relating to Army's unrecovered war casualties.
